My husband and I have been following the news about the girl shortages & it's implication for China. We want to travel back to China someday with our daughter, yet we have serious concerns in doing so about her safety. China has significantly reduced the number of healthy infant girls to be adopted to other countries. They haven't said why, but us in the adoption community suspect it's related to lack of potential suiters for young males. Of course we worry about the girls left behind and what their future holds for them? How will they be treated when they age out of orphanages? Our adoption agency (Holt International) previously stated the number of children in orphanges in China is estimated in the millions. I have much gratitude in my heart for my daughters birth mother. She gave her life and bravely left her at the steps of the orphanage door.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34071098.post-53642856738394643512010-04-14T08:37:12.068+08:002010-04-14T08:37:12.068+08:00I read the original story on the resolve blog and ...I read the original story on the resolve blog and wanted to leave a comment.
